You have no idea how happy I have been since I have learned how to make Keto Simple Syrup!!
I can now take some of my normal recipes and make them keto!
I did just that with my Keto Buckeye Balls (or peanut butter balls), and I keep looking through my old recipes that I once loved to see if I can find more to turn them keto. So many times there were those ingredients that hindered me doing that, such as flour, corn syrup, sweetened condensed milk….. you get the idea.
Well, do you know what this wonderful new found treasure (to me anyway) will substitute for???? Corn syrup!!! Yes!!! This makes me very happy!!
And, this is so simple to make. I should never, ever, be without this jar of sticky deliciousness again!!
You southern folks may know what I’m talking about here….. When my hubby was a little fellow, his grandma would keep a pan of sugar syrup on the stove basically all the time to have over biscuits. Get it hot, add some butter in your bowl or on your biscuit and pour this over it…. Well, if you don’t know, this is quite a treat! It has become a Christmas tradition with our family to have this in a pan on our stove every Christmas morning. But, the way my hubby always made it was definitely not keto!! But now….. Let me just say, he is a very happy man!
And, another wonderful thing about this???? ZERO NET CARBS!!! I love to find foods with ZERO NET CARBS!!! Especially ones this wonderful!
Let’s look at how simple it is to make Keto Simple Syrup…..
You will need water, allulose, xanthan gum and vanilla. That’s it!!!
Erythritol will not work here. It absolutely needs to be Allulose as it does not crystalize like erythritol does. This is very important in this!
In a mixing bowl, add your allulose and xanthan gum and whisk it together until well blended.
Bring your water to a boil, then pour it in a pint size mason jar.
Add the allulose mixture to the hot water. I use a hand blender with the whisk to mix this up in the jar.
You will need to make sure the allulose is dissolved well.
Now, add the vanilla.
Put the lid on the jar and shake it good. Remove the lid and let it cool and thicken then put the lid back on.
This will keep on the counter for a week or two. Or, you can go ahead and use it. Just let it sit a bit first and thicken.
Now you have some wonderful Keto Simple Syrup to use in place of corn syrup.
